Know Your Used Nissan Juke History
The Nissan Juke history is that it first entered the market in 2010 at the Geneva Motor Show and made quite a stir with automotive fans and journalists alike due to its groundbreaking looks.
So what’s in a look?
The current first generation Juke featured prominent wheel arches and a high waistline, as well as smooth rounding and a prominent centre console. As the Nissan Juke history books will reveal, the sporty motif of the first-generation Juke reflected the “Coke bottle” design of the 1960s. Nissan kept the Juke 2011 and Juke 2012 models the same as the first year, however, the 2013 Juke introduced the NISMO version which featured styling changes, as well as the 147kW engine that made it a track killer. Nissan released their updated Nissan Juke in 2014 and accentuated the original design with emphasises on the Juke’s key features such as larger lights, a cheekier grill, and even added an improved engine that offered better economy. To date the most popular Used Juke Models on our showroom floors include the:
- 2018 Nissan Juke Models
- 2017 Nissan Juke Models
- 2016 Nissan Juke Models
- 2015 Nissan Juke Models
- 2014 Nissan Juke Models
Unfortunately, these legendary vehicles were discontinued, so you cannot purchase a new version and this also makes it hard to get your hands on a used Juke model. If you are looking for a Nissan that delivers but can’t find a Juke, why not try a used Nissan Qashqai or a pre-owned Nissan X-Trail?
1st Generation Nissan Juke (Current SA Model)
2011–2019
|
The Nissan Juke was first sold in 2011 and fast became a shining star in the subcompact crossover SUV category in every country in which it was sold. Quirky and original, its design was the brainchild of Nissan’s European Design Studio in London and has divided critics and drivers alike into the “love it” or “hate it” camps.
Since its launch, there has been one facelift to the Juke, and this was made during the 2014 production year. This slight revision to the vehicle’s distinctive looks saw the introduction of LED accent lights in front. Inside however there were some larger changes to the features available in certain later version Juke models, which included the addition of a rear-view camera as standard in most trim levels, the introduction of keyless go, and provision for a Bluetooth hands-free phone system in all trim levels.
Additionally, a new sporty version of the Juke was added to the global vehicle range in 2013 with the addition of the updated Nissan Juke 1.6L Turbo NISMO Version. This was followed in 2015 by the Juke NISMO RS, which is the most powerful variant of the Juke manufactured to date.
One of the most innovative features of the Juke was the introduction of Nissan’s Integrated Control System, or I-CON for short. This command module is found in all but the base models of the Juke, and is used to manage a number of vehicle features from the dashboard. This includes the Jukes climate control and the different drive modes that are available in the Juke. These drive modes are Normal Mode, Sports Mode and Eco Mode. Additionally, this Integrated Control System can be used to display current fuel efficiency stats, interesting real-time G-force measurements, and the vehicles turbo boost pressure.
Did You Know? The name “Juke” was decided on for this 5-door hatchback, because the word “Juke” means to dance or change directions. This is a direct reference to the fact that the Juke is one of the world’s best urban cars because of its exceptional agility. |
